Γράμμα στον Πρωθυπουργό απο τους μαθητές των φροντιστηρίων Lingo για την Μάνδρα Αττικής

Κύριε Πρωθυπουργέ,
Θα θέλαμε να σας ενημερώσουμε ότι η επιστολή που ακολουθεί γράφτηκε συλλογικά
από τους μαθητές της τάξης επιπέδου Lower (Β2) του φροντιστηρίου μας στα πλαίσια του
μαθήματος της έκθεσης .
Οι μαθητές μας , σοκαρισμένοι και συντετριμμένοι από το χαμό τόσων
ανθρώπων και περιουσιών στη Μάνδρα Αττικής,
ένιωσαν την ανάγκη να μην μείνουν απλοί παρατηρητές των όσων έγιναν αλλά
να αναλάβουν δράση ώστε να μην επαναληφθεί μία παρόμοια καταστροφή. Με βάση το
σκεπτικό αυτό, στο γράμμα τους επισημαίνουν κάποιες από τις αιτίες της
καταστροφής και προτείνουν μέτρα που πιστεύουν ότι πρέπει να ληφθούν άμεσα.
Ελπίζουν ότι θα καταφέρουν να ευαισθητοποιήσουν όλους τους αρμόδιους και κυρίως
εσάς ώστε μέσω της έγκαιρης ενημέρωσης και οργάνωσης να αποτραπούν μελλοντικές
καταστροφές.
Σας ευχαριστούμε για το χρόνο σας και πιστεύουμε ότι και εσείς θα
νιώσετε τον ίδιο ενθουσιασμό και την ίδια περηφάνια που νιώσαμε και εμείς για
τους μαθητές μας!

Prime Minister,
Recently a biblical catastrophe has
occurred in the western region of Attica. For this reason we have decided to
send you this letter and ask you, the government and the authorities, in
general, to do your best to prevent similar events from happening again!
It is known that the reasons which led to
this disaster are human irresponsibility and ignorance. A recent fire destroyed
a big part of the forest nearby and, as a result, the rain water destroyed
whole houses and killed many people. We believe that action must be taken
immediately; today, not tomorrow.
First of all, reforestation is the first
thing that has to be done. This way the new forest will protect the people from
floods. Also, the forests ought to be protected with more forest patrols which
will prevent new fires. In addition, many people had not been informed about
how big the damage of the storm could be so they were not prepared. For this
reason, organising public speeches at schools or providing information on what
to do is important and will certainly help. Finally, although people have made
a lot of mistakes, a big part of what happened was because of the authorities.
Specifically, the authorities had not finished the necessary constructions to
protect people from flooding. Also, the fire brigade vehicles and equipment are
old, few and in such a bad condition that they could not actually help the
trapped people. That is why we are asking you to deal with these problems right
away.
To sum up, we believe that you should take
up the responsibility to ensure that all citizens are informed about what to do
if something like this comes up and, most importantly, to make sure that the
measures, which must be taken, are actually taken in time!
